Battlefield 6 requires Secure Boot. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to enable the feature in BIOS/UEFI—a minimalist approach, just like Apple's.
What is Secure Boot?
Secure Boot is a security feature of the UEFI. It ensures that only trusted software is loaded during startup. Battlefield 6 will refuse to boot if Secure Boot is disabled.
Step-by-step instructions
1. Check if Secure Boot is active
- Press Windows + R.
-
Type
msinfo32and press Enter. - Check the “Secure Boot State” entry: On = active, Off = deactivated.
2. Boot into BIOS/UEFI
Restart the PC and press a key while booting: usually DEL , F2 or F10 .
3. Enable Secure Boot
- Switch to advanced mode.
- Navigate to Boot or Security .
- Select Secure Boot → Enabled . If it's grayed out, set the boot mode to UEFI and select "Install Default Keys."
Tip:
DEL (FYARE, MSI, Asus/Gigabyte),
F2 (Lenovo/HP),
F10 (HP)
4. Save changes & restart
Press F10 → Save & Exit → confirm. The PC will then restart.
5. Control
Windows + R again → msinfo32 . If "Safe Boot State = On" → Battlefield 6 will start.
Problems & Solutions
